Malaga, Spain - May 2026

Flew in from Marrakech and cleared Customs. Arriving in Spain was a bit painful but we got through okay. Caught the train to Centro and had some lunch, as we can't check in until 3pm.

Made our way to our AirBnb by Bolt. They had given us an address that was close but not accurate so that was a bit frustrating. It was a nice place in a quiet residential area...

I picked this place for the view...

We unpacked and went for a walk along the beachfront for a couple of kilometres.

We then caught a Bolt into the old town. It was very busy as it's Friday night and a public holiday. This is the cathedral...

This is the alcazaba...

This is the roman theatre...

It's now 9pm...

Finally dark at 2230!

The next morning we got up and walked up to Castillo de Gibralfaro. It was up but not steep.

Looking back the way we had come...

Looking towards the port...

On the way down we looked up at the walls of the castle...

Back down into town...

This is the church of San Agustin...

On the second night, we found a rooftop bar/restaurant called Teraza Catedral. We walked from our accommodation...

We walked back through this tunnel...

Walking around Centro I found this place. Was busy so I didn't have a drink...

We went to the famous Mercado de Atarazxanas but it was touristy and too packed for me so I left...

We had lunch at a seafood restaurant right on the beach.

The gazpacho was great...

The seafood was cooked here...

This is the Centre Pompidou Malaga, viewed from the path to the castle...

Back to the room for a siesta which we are getting very good at!

This is a view of the Catedral from the place we get an Uber to and from. We went to a rooftop bar on top of the hotel to the left...

The next day I walked into town but needed some more challenging cardio so walked up to the castle again, this time from Centro...

Then walked back down the same way. This is another view of the Alcazabar...

So Instagram knows I'm here and recommended a nice cafe for breakfast...

Saw this on a random wall...

On the last day I walked around the old town again...

On the last night I sat at this bar updating my blog. It's called La Odisea...

Had some tapas...

Then we headed to another rooftop bar for a drink...

Then we found a restaurant for a late dinner...

We then walked home. Lovely view of the full moon from our room...

The next day we caught an Uber to the bus station and had breakfast at a cafe there. Then boarded the bus for Granada.
