Jeju Island, South Korea - Friday 9 October, 2026

 Today is my last day on Jeju and I woke up to another perfect day. View from my balcony...

I wasn't sure how long it would take to fill the car with petrol and drop it back to the rental place, so I left in plenty of time. Easy drive and I arrive in Jeju City with time to spare. I found a cute cafe called Cafe Bree Free and had some breakfast...

Then walked to the sea. This spot is virtually under the runway...

Easy one hour flight on Korean Air back to Gimpo (Seoul)...

Jeju Island, South Korea - Thursday 9 October 2026

 Woke up to another gorgeous day. I went and had a look at the hotel. Love the translation...

These are hanok houses on the hotel property...

I decided to go and look for a cafe. However, after crossing the road outside the hotel I saw a sign to another waterfall so I followed the path...

This one was smaller and free! It is called Sojeongbang Waterfall...

I walked back and got the car. Today I'm driving west, first stop Jusangjeolli Cliffs which were formed by cooling lava.

As always, there's an entry fee of 2,000 won and parking was an extra 1,000. Scenery was beautiful...

I was amused to see the car park containing white cars only...

I then kept driving to Osulloc Tea Museum. It's a popular tourist destination and they have done a good job with their marketing. It's not so much a museum as a tea shop but I had a nice lunch there and bought some chocolate.

I had the warm matcha noodles which were very good...

You could walk through the tea plants...

After that, I kept driving to the West Coast, and went to a lovely place called Hyeopjae Beach...

I had a coffee at a cafe overlooking the beach...

I then had a walk around the small town before heading back to Seogwipo. Got changed and caught an Uber to Olle Market. I am sick of driving and getting a car park in the city can be challenging.

Tonight I went to a food court section of the market and tried some local food. This is octopus balls wrapped in bacon...

And this is an omelette with pork in it...

After that I stumbled on this cocktail bar...

And had a couple of cocktails...

Then headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow I fly back to Seoul.

Jeju Island, South Korea - Tuesday 6 October

I have a big day planned today. I got up early and walked into Hamdeok Beach. My goal was to see the sunrise from that hill you can see, but I'm a bit late...

Looking back to Cafe Delmoondo where I will go on my way back...

I'm on my way up Seowubong Volcanic Cone now. This is looking back to the town...

It's nice up here and there are only a couple of other people around...

I walked back down and went to Cafe Delmoondo for a coffee...

Not much food on offer...

I walked back to my hotel. This is my trusty Hyundai Avante...

I then set off East to my first destination, Manjanggul Lava Tube. I arrived at 9am, just as it opened. It's about a 1km walk through the cave. It's cold but very nice...

I got to the end and walked back the same way. This is the way out...

It was a nice experience...

I got back in the car and drove further East to Seongsan Ilchulbong (Sunrise Peak). I had planned to hike up, but the hiking path was closed.

There was a path that was open so I walked along that. This beach is one of the places the haenyeo divers work from...

Looking back at the mountain...

I then drove to Seongsan Port and caught the ferry to Udo Island (see separate post).

After Udo, I drove to Seopjikoji coastal walk which was a nice way to end the day...

I drove back to the hotel, got changed for dinner and drove into town for dinner. Great day.
