Phuket - Thursday 4 July 2019

Today we have booked a tour to Phang Nga Bay, which is where James Bond Island is.

I don't like tours so I picked the sunrise tour hoping it would be less busy, and there would be less people on the bay. So a 4:30 wakeup for a 4:45 pickup !

Were taken to the marina on the other side of the island and got on a large speedboat. This was an expensive tour at A$180 per person but I wanted a good tour on a good boat. There were about 30 people and the tour was well organised.

We motored for about an hour and then got to the bay where there are a lot of interesting limestone formations. We met our canoes and were taken through some caves and generally around.

Eliza and Callum had their own canoe...

We went to a muslim village largely built over the water. Malaysian travellers established it about 250 years ago.

After that,we motored a bit more to an island where we had about 45 minutes to swim. Overcast day but the water was warm.

Then to another place for a tasty lunch at a very local place. We were starving by now as breakfast was not good.

Phuket - Sunday 30 June to Wednesday 3 July 2019

Headed back to Phuket for a week. Callum and I are travelling together from HK and meeting the girls there.

8pm Saturday flight on HK Express. Busy at the airport as Monday is a Public Holiday here and most other places it seems.

Got to hotel about midnight. We are staying at the same place as last year, but have booked a nicer room in the Lagoon Wing, overlooking one of the pools.

Weather is perfect ! Relaxing by the pool on Sunday...

We have breakfast together each morning and then decide what to do - beach or pool ? Today is beach day. 

THB100 for a chair and umbrella. This is Karon Beach...

Tuesday night we went to Karon Market which is in the grounds of a temple. It runs Tuesdays and Fridays...

Had some street food for dinner. These are crocodile kebabs. They were okay...

Bought a shirt for THB250 (about A$12)...

Nice to Milan - Friday 14 June 2019

Breakfast in the hotel, then went for a walk around the harbour and the old town. It's a lovely warm sunny day. This is looking to the beachfront...

Love the Mediterranean colours !



Water looks nice but there's no sand and the pebbles don't look too comfortable !





Climbed a hill to a park above the old town overlooking the beach one way, and the harbour the other way...

Back in the main square near my hotel this lady has lost her bra !

Checked out and drove back to Milan. I wanted to drive on La Corniche which I last did in 1990 !

There are 3 routes, and I accidentally picked the lowest one which was closest to the sea.

Three hours or so on a freeway to get back to Milan. Have spent a fair bit on tolls.

Checked in to Hotel La Vignetta in the Navigli district, which is near a canal and known for good nightlife.

Walked to the Duomo area and went to a bar called Duomo 21 Terrazza. I love how it stays light so late here.

Went for dinner at an all you can eat place on the canal in Navigli. EUR11 and includes a beer which is pretty good.

Had a last espresso and back to the hotel. I leave for the airport tomorrow morning for my flight back to Hong Kong.
