Chi Linh Nunnery and Victoria Peak - June 2017

Summer started with a vengeance - very hot and stormy. We had our first typhoon but overnight so we didn't get a day off work / school !

Work was good, getting used to the new office and finding new lunch places. This one is Naka in Wing Lok Street. Italian / Japanese Fusion...

Scallop risotto...

One day we were in Diamond Hill, so we went to The Nunnery. Beautiful timber buildings in nice gardens...

We took Callum to his first Rubik's Cube competition, just to observe...this is the blindfolded 3x3 event...

Walked up The Peak, which I do a lot. Very sweaty...

Tesla's are pretty common here. This one looked good with black wheels...

Japanese in Peel Street...

Our pool...

The lifeguard was so bored, every time I got out, he would mop up the puddle...

It's a nice place to sit and read...

Went back to Naka with a group of friends...

Found a new street near where we live with a Canadian Restaurant, and this place which I am not sure what is...

Had to pick some art for the new office, so went to the studio of a guy that had done some other stuff for us. Highly accomplished guy. No English. Had a traditional tea ceremony which was great. His studio had some really nice traditional Chinese furniture. In an industrial building near Tsuen Wan.

Had takeaway from here. In the laneway next to work...

Walked The Peak again in the middle of the rainy weather after the typhoon. I wasn't expecting it to be this clear...

This one looks back to our apartment building, almost in the centre of the photo, in front of the four big towers on the left...

At the new coffee place near work - Amber. This is cold coffee with ice-cream and a brownie...a rare treat for me...

Umina Renovation - July 2026

After 20+ years of ownership, we decided to give our Umina Beach house a major renovation.  I didn't take a before pic of the front but ...
