Singapore to Madrid via Rome - April 2026

I have a long 24 hours ahead of me. I left the office at 1630 and was in the Cathay lounge in Terminal 4 by 1715. This is Terminal 4...

There's only one lounge in this terminal but it is a nice one...

I did a couple of calls and had some food. It's a pity I don't like champagne...

I got on the 20:00 to Hong Kong. I'm Business Class so I skipped dinner and slept.

On arrival in HK I was escorted by Cathay staff through the transit process to my next flight as I has only about 45 minutes to connect. Boarded for Rome. I watched Dexter Resurrection and had some wonton noodles then slept. It is about a 13 hour flight.

I ordered the Wellness Breakfast which was good...

As we approached Rome, we had great views of the alps...

We were bussed off but at least the first bus was limited to business class passengers.

The plane was the only passenger jet with the retro Cathay livery...

I had to change terminals which was easy and I found the Plaza First Class Lounge and had an espresso and Golden Benedict...

The lounge is a first class one and very nice. Great service...

I think that's an Italian budget airline. Nice colour!
