Landed just after curfew (6am) Saturday morning at Heathrow. Straight through passport control and got my bag. I usually catch the Elizabeth Line to London Bridge, but it was closed for the weekend. So I caught the Picadilly line to Monument via Barons Court then walked to Lovat House where I have stayed twice before.
Checked in and unpacked and did some washing. That's why I prefer a serviced apartment - a bit more space and being able to wash. The apartment is nice and I'm on the 3rd floor this time so I have a view...
This is my view...
Went for a walk to Hoxton and had brunch.

It's my third time here this year and it's cold but Saturday was okay. I then walked to the British Museum and wandered around.
Dionysos the god of intoxication, abundance and rebirth :-)
I continued on my walk past Chinatown...
Here is The Mall...
I went back to the apartment for a rest. That night I headed to Picadilly to see the Christmas lights...
Then headed to dinner in Soho, to Lobos where I always end up, and had some tapas. The artichokes were great but the meatballs were average...
The paella was great...
I walked around Soho for a bit which was extremely busy. I then caught the Tube back to my apartment.
On Sunday, I went to my favourite cafe Lantana London Bridge.
I had booked this time as I didn't get in last time as a walk-in.
I then walked along the river to Tate Modern and wandered around for a bit...
I continued on to the Westminster Bridge and walked past Westminster Abbey
I wanted to go to Portobello Road market so got on the Tube and got part the way there. But there was a fatality on the tracks which closed that line. So I walked past Harrods...
And caught a bus to Covent Garden which was very busy...
This trip took me to Platinum 1, the highest Qantas status level...
Sunday night I met my colleague Luke for a drink at The Libertine which is really nice. It was an underground bunker in WW2 and is located under the Royal Exchange...
After drinks I headed to Soho for dinner. It was about 9.30 pm and I had trouble finding somewhere where the kitchen was still open. But I did, and had a nice meal...
By Monday it became very cold...
On Monday I walked to the office...
On Tuesday night I moved to the conference hotel, Nobu Portman Square which is very nice and located in Mayfair which is very fancy! This is the lobby...
We had two days of conference and finished with the big event at the British Museum, which was amazing. We were ferried there in old-fashioned London buses...
There's no back door on these old buses and it's very cold!
Friday was a clear day, but still very cold. This is the view from my room at the Nobu...
The buildings around the hotel are really nice...
I went for a walk down Little Bond Street, where all the fancy shops are, and they are all decorated for Christmas...
That night there was a lovely sunset...
Friday night I headed to Baker Street tube and went one stop to meet cousin Jeremy for a tapas dinner...
Saturday morning I had breakfast in the hotel for the final time. I felt a cold coming on so had a tumeric tea...
I then went for a walk around the local area to Hyde Park. It was too cold and I didn't last long.

Marble Arch...
Checked out and worked in the lobby for a few hours. Then walked to Bond Street and caught the Elizabeth Line to Heathrow Terminal 3. I went to the Cathay First Class Lounge and had a shower and some food.
Then moved to the Qantas Lounge...

Then boarded my flight to Singapore on QF2.
