Hong Kong - February 2018

One Sunday I caught the ferry to a place called Shekou, which is in Shenzhen. Easy one hour ferry ride and easy through immigration, but still had to get a visa on arrival which is a pain. I will apply for a China multi-entry visa once my Hong Kong work visa is approved.

This is the very modern ferry terminal at Shekou...

Chinese New Year decorations are everywhere...

On the way to work. Running late...

CNY gift from HSBC. Year of the Dog...

Bacon and avocado salad at one of my favourite cafes. Coffee Roastery Lab, Sheung Wan...

Walking past the dried fish shops in Sai Ying Pun. Later found out these are a species of gecko...

On my way to TST on Valentine's Day. This is the busiest I've seen Central Station...

One of my colleagues lives in a nice apartment in Elgin Street and this is part of his view...right onto where I used to live...

Late one afternoon, Eliza and I walked up The Peak. I've never been at night. It was dark when we came down and we saw some wild boar...

Chinese New Year weekend, most things are closed. But Jacqui and I wandered around Jordan and found this place, Colour Brown...

And at Kowloon Park, we saw our first dragon dance for this year...

Hong Kong and Macau - January 2018

Came back to Hong Kong on 5 January. The city already has Chinese New Year decorations up...

Sushi at my new favourite local Japanese. Right near where I live...

Also found a new udon place in my street. Very nice...

Really ??

Discovered a new bar. This is the view from the balcony. That's my building, The Center...

At the bar, they served us this platter with 2 test tubes and 2 little white things. After my friend drank the beaker, we realised we were meant to pour it onto the white thing, which then turned into a serviette...

Found a new cool bar...VEA in Central...

I went to Macau when I first came to Hong Kong, but the family hadn't been. So one Sunday we caught the ferry over. Easy through immigration and caught a taxi to the fort and cathedral.
