Phuket - Monday 2 July 2018

Overcast for our last day. We all went and had a massage at Pineapple Massage.

Friendly cat at the hotel...

Went for a walk to South Karon. Similar to where we are staying. Power lines...

Then hung by the pool and went for dinner.

Transfer to airport at 2030 for a 2340 flight. Landed in HK at 0415 and went home for a sleep and then to work.

Spent day on the beach.Walked to the northern end of the beach and climbed the headland. This is looking back down Karon Beach...

At night, we caught a tuk tuk for quite a long ride to Naka Night Market in Phuket Town. Not a bad market and picked up some shirts for Callum and had dinner.

Phuket - Friday 29 June 2018

Breakfast and then took some laundry in. THB50 per kg. Very cheap. Then bought a new hat and sunnies...

Walked to the south end of the beach. This is a shot looking back north...

This restaurant, On The Rocks was recommended for dinner, but we never made it. Lovely location...

Found this at the end of our street. And on Friday's it contains a huge market...

That night we went to a massage place and put our feet in the tank so the fish could eat our dead skin...

Phuket - Thursday 28 June 2018

Got up early and went for a walk, but it's raining so I didn't get far. Here is traveling frog on the balcony...



Had breakfast and then taxi to Tiger Kingdom. We had reservations about going, for ethical reasons, but it turned out to be a great experience. As Callum is under 16, the only choice was the smallest tiger, so we all did that, and went in together.

Had a swim then hit the outdoor bar at the Movenpick Hotel on the beachfront and did some emails.

Dinner was at a different place in the main street.

Phuket - Wednesday 27 June 2018

This is the main street at Karon Beach...

Spent the morning at one of the 3 pools. Then had lunch nearby. Then to beach and the kids had a tandem parasail.

After that we caught a Grab to Patong to the hotel that Jacqui stayed at with Anthony, 30 years ago.

The kids are always drawn to the cats...

Then walked through the crazy party street where we were harassed for everything including sex shows. Not cool with a 13 year old.

Left the kids and went to a different bar, also with a good band. It's not peak season so it feels quite quiet.

Phuket - Tuesday 26 June 2018

The kids get a 4 week break from school so we thought we'd have a week in Phuket.

Flew HK Express for the first time and landed at 2240 Monday night. Long transfer to hotel.

Got to hotel, Centara Karon Beach Resort well after midnight.

Got up next morning and had buffet breakfast in one of the 2 restaurants.

Had a walk around and then hit the beach. Hired beach chairs for THB100 each. Spent most of the day there.

Spent the afternoon by the pool. Here are Callum, and Eliza in her day 1 bikini...

The gym was pretty decent...

Dinner in hotel for the clown show that Callum wanted to see. The entertainers at the resort were great. This one is Vinko who Callum took a shine to...

He even got both of them up at the clown show !

Then hit a local bar with a great bar. It was full of ladyboys but that's fine, it's Thailand, and they didn't harrass me !

A guy came around on a motorbike with this on the back. Very popular with the locals. Turns out they are insects !
