Munich, Germany - February 2025

I caught the train from Innsbruck to Munich. The trip is just under two hours and I splurged on a business class seat. 

Scenery along the way...

I had picked Le Meridien to stay for one night as it is close to the main station where I arrived. Checked in and went for a walk to the river and the Old Town. It is very cold and the footpaths are pretty icy.

Alex had recommended the river, to see people surfing.

There was this one guy surfing and he was good. I don't know how he does it in this cold weather in spite of the wetsuit. Apparently this is really popular in Summer...

I went back to the hotel for a rest. Later I headed out to dinner to somewhere I had read about. No English menu but the waiter helped me find this dish.

The next morning I used my coffee app and found a nice cafe. Parts of the town are quite pretty...

Around lunchtime I got an Uber to the airport which is about a 45 minute drive. Easy check in to Qatar and pretty quick through immigration. Found the generic lounge and had some lunch.

This is Alex's favourite dessert. A bit too heavy for me.

Goodbye Munich!

About five hours to Doha. I'm in a different terminal this time, so I found the equally amazing Qatar lounge and had a shower.

Ordered some sushi before the next leg to Singapore...

I think by now it's about 2am local time and I've lost track of where my body clock is. Skipped the meal and slept for a few of the seven or so hours to Singapore.
