I was called to a meeting in London at short notice. A bit painful as I had to change all my Singapore/Mumbai travel plans.
Given it's such short notice and airfares are expensive, I decided to fly Qatar as I know their Business Class is good and the lounge in Doha is excellent.
It's a 2140 flight so I had a cocktail and dinner in the lounge...
Boarded on time.
Flight left at 2140 and landed in Doha early at 0400! I was in a A380 for the first leg. I took a tablet and slept a lot.
Boarded for the next leg to London Gatwick. Taking off and it's unusual to see another plan so close.
Landed about 1pm and got the Thameslink to London Bridge and then the Tube to Bank Street. I was going to walk from London Bridge but it was raining.
Checked into Philpot House, a serviced apartment near Monument. I chose an apartment over a hotel given I am here for seven days.
I spent some time unpacking and getting ready for the week ahead. Went for a walk around the local area and bought some business shirts. I am very close to Leadenhall Market.
I worked each day until Thursday. The view from my office is a bit drab...
Had dinner with colleagues on Tuesday night and went to the gym on Wednesday and Thursday nights and did laps. The guy at Virgin Active was very generous and let me in for free.
Went for a walk after gym and stumbled across the famous Somerset House. Looked great all lit up...
It's Friday and I am heading to Innsbruck. I left the apartment at 0730 and walked to London Bridge DLR station and caught the Thameslink to Gatwick. Very easy bag drop at EasyJet then surprisingly quick through immigration and security. I sat in a restaurant and had breakfast.
They have an airbridge like the one in Hong Kong...
Boarded the plan on time for the 90 minute flight to Innsbruck.
