Hong Kong - November 2020

The weather remains beautiful.

A new bakery called Bakehouse has opened in Staunton Street. In typical Hong Kong fashion, the queues are incredible !

Saturday spin class !

One Saturday I went to The Globe for dinner by myself. Had the beef carpaccio...

The next day I went for a cycle with some friends. I had done most of this before, but never the whole way from Tai Wai to Tai Mei Tuk and then back via Ma On Shan. I was pretty sore after so went for a massage !

This is the breakwater at Tai Mei Tuk overlooking Plover Cove.

A new cafe has opened on the corner of Staunton Street and Old Bailey Street. Thought I'd try it out...

Food was good. Coffee was a bit under-sized !

Had drinks one Friday night at Shakeshack on the roof of IFC. Lovely night.

The next day I had lunch with a friend at BRAZA Churrascaria which is a Brazilian restaurant in LKF. Buffet including a lot of meat on skewers that they bring around.

That night I met another friend for hotpot dinner in Sheung Wan.

The next day I went to Tosca at the Ritz-Carlton in ICC for a very nice lunch with matching wine. Decided to dress up a bit.

Walking into ICC Gorgeous day...

Had a table by the window...

It was a set menu with various options. Started with the beef carpaccio with parmesan and artichoke...

Scallop which was extra !

Had matching wines and the service was great.

My "main". But there was plenty of food...

Cheese platter...

Dessert....

Afterwards we went up to Ozone, which is the highest bar in the world. I had never been. We didn't drink as we had had enough at lunch !

Afterwards, we walked to the West Kowloon Cultural District and sat by the harbour...

Aberdeen Reservoir hike - November 2020

Last month I walked from my place to Aberdeen. This time I wanted to walk a different way via Aberdeen Reservoir.

From my place I walked along Bowen Road Fitness Trail. Halfway along, I took a right and went up Wan Chai Gap Road to Wan Chai Gap Park. That was steep and the hardest part of this hike.

Then got onto Middle Gap Road which I wanted to see as there are many large mansions there. It's not long and turns into the trail to Aberdeen.

The trail takes you on a path overlooking Ocean Park and Wong Chuk Hang.

Looking down to Aberdeen...

Followed the signs to the lower reservoir and came out here...

Then kept going and before long came out of the park and headed down a suburban street to Aberdeen.

Then walked along the harbour back to Wong Chuk Hang MTR station and back home.

Melbourne - June 2024

Had to go to Melbourne for work. Flew on the Monday morning and straight to the office. After work I checked in to Voco and crossed Lonsdal...
