Sydney - September 2019

Went back for Tanna Nankivell's 21st, and to see the family. Overnight flight on Cathay in Premium Economy. Watched Late Night with Emma Thompson but I didn't love it. I wished I'd slept instead !

Hired a Corolla Hybrid from Just Birds as I wanted my independence. Here I am, driving across the Harbour Bridge...

My naked ladies are looking good...

Drove to Warriewood with Eliza for lunch. Nice day...

Saturday night we attended Tanna's 21st at Beachside Dojo, Manly...

Sunday, I went to Woolworths to get some chocolate for my nephews. A bit overwhelming...

After a nice BBQ lunch, I headed to Wamberal beach for some fresh air...

Then I drove the scenic route to Umina to check out my house. This is Umina Beach...

Monday night I went to watch Callum playing soccer...

On Tuesday, Eliza and I drove to Canberra. Stopped at Goulburn for a break - it snowed last night !



Arrived in Canberra. After seeing my mother, I went for a walk around Lake Burley Griffin with Megan. It was cold but the wind coming off the lake was FREEZING !

Singapore - Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2019

My room rate at the Capitol Kempinski includes champagne breakfast ! I didn't make use of the champagne on the work days, but I tried it on Saturday morning. And to balance it, I had a detox juice :-)

I then caught a Grab to Gardens By The Bay. I've been here before, but only at night and I hadn't been into the Flower Dome and the Cloud Dome. Cost SGD25 for both and was quite good...

Then headed back to La Pau Sat for lunch. Then caught the MRT back to the hotel. As I'm paying for tonight myself, I'm switching to a cheaper hotel - Parkroyal on Pickering. It's really nice too. Spent the afternoon by the pool and had a nap...

That night headed to a bar I wanted to try called Smoke & Mirrors, on top of the National Gallery. Easy 20 minute walk over the river...

Passed the Old Hill Police Station on the way, just near Clarke Quay...

It's a lovely night. Warm with a light breeze. View from Smoke & Mirrors...

Sunday I had breakfast in the hotel. Another huge buffet ! Then caught a Grab to the aiport for my 1255 flight. Very quick and only SGD18. Wandered around Terminal 4 which is the newest one, and then waited in the Cathay Lounge.

Easy flight back and watched Rocketman which I really enjoyed. Journey was spoiled in HK as the protesters were disrupting the roads around the airport as they are no longer allowed inside the airport. I spent 2 hours in the taxi rank and then 4 hours in the taxi ! Outrageous...

Singapore - Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 August 2019

Headed back to Singapore for work for a few days. Decided to stay the weekend.

Flew Tuesday afternoon. Easy 3 hours and 20 minutes. Through immigration very quickly and straight into a taxi.

Staying at Capitol Kempinski a new hotel one stop away from work on the MRT. Lovely large room and great location at City Hall.

The woman who checked me in recommended a rooftop bar called Mr Stork at the Andaz Hotel, about 1km from my hotel. So I walked up and had dinner. Nice view but maybe would have been better to watch the sun go down.

I then headed back to the hotel and went to the hotel bar for my complimentary cocktail. Nice bar, great bartender...

Next morning I headed to breakfast which was very good...

Came back to the room after work to these treats. Sticky rice, yum...

On Thursday we had an office team building exercise. Bowling and karaoke. These are the karaoke booths...

Only in Asia :-)

Bowling lanes were shorter than normal but it was a nice afternoon...
