Kuala Lumpur - Wednesday 3 May 2017

Got up early to put Alex in a Grab to the aiport. Her flight to Sydney is at 10am. The airport is a fair way out of town and traffic jams are common so we allowed plenty of time.

Had a walk around KLCC park which I have been meaning to do since I got here.

Then a quick swim and steam and then a last breakfast in the hotel.

Kale juice, fruit and prune yoghurt...

Poached by the chef...

A little bit of dim sum...

Blueberry smoothie, curry chicken and roti...

Caught a Grab to the airport, expecting the trip to take 60 - 90 minutes. but we were there in 45 !

Easy transit through immigration. flight was delayed an hour so we spent 4 hours at the airport !

Easy flight back to HK and caught airport Express home.

Had a great trip.

Callum's thank you note...

Kuala Lumpur - Tuesday 2 May 2017

Today we are off to Batu Caves.

Had breakfast in the food court at KLCC. Then caught a Grab to Sentral Station where we caught the train to Batu Caves. It cost MYR20 for 5 of us. Quite cheap but a Grab would have been cheaper. We wanted to try the train though.

Walked around and up the many stairs. It was okay. A bit run down. Lots of monkeys which the kids enjoyed.

The staircase takes you into the cave...

Looking back down...

Lots of monkeys...

Caught a Grab back to hotel and chilled by the pool.

I then went and had a massage and did some shopping. Clothes are cheaper here than in Hong Kong.

Dinner at an Italian place in Bukit Bintang.

Chilling by the (really nice) pool...

Kuala Lumpur - Monday 1 May 2017

Had a sleep in and tried the food court in the convention centre next door for breakfast. Killarney Kopitan. It was okay but I don't think we ordered well !!

Then caught Grab taxi to the National Mosque. Had to wear a hijab. Quite interesting but not much to see. Then to the Islamic Arts Museum. Nice building. Some interesting art. Small entry fee.

Then walked to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. Cost a bit to get in and it was okay. But we got bored quickly and it started to rain so we left.

Then caught a Grab back to the hotel and chilled by the pool for a bit. Dinner at a Vietnamese place in Bukit Bintang.

Kuala Lumpur - Sunday 30 April

Woke early and hit the amazing buffet again.

Today we are going on a tour to an elephant sanctuary.

They were 40 minutes late picking us up. First stop was a pewter place near Batu Caves. Then a long drive out of KL. Stopped for coffee. Got there and had lunch at a local place, and then a walk through an indigineous village.

The pewter place was actually at Selangor...

Local food...very dry chicken...

Cute...

Dim Sum street food...
