Sydney - July / August / September 2024

One day I drove to Newcastle for a look. It must have been over 30 years since I was last here...

For Callum's 20th birthday we took the gang out to dinner to the Collaroy Beach Club...

We had a partner retreat at the Fairmont Resort in the Blue Mountains. Good day of sessions then dinner in Leura before going back to the hotel for drinks...

Got up early for a hike on the second day. It was cold...

Came back from Singapore and went to my friend Julie's 60th birthday party at Bar Lulu in The Rocks. Great night...

The garden at Berkeley Vale is very weedy and the side here is out of control...

So I set some cover down, ordered pine bark this time as I want something more durable. Looks so much better...

Perth - September 2024

Had to go to Perth for work. I got a points upgrade so flew business class. Had breakfast and then napped for about two of the five hours flight.

Coming into Perth...

Got to the hotel (The Adnate) about 12 and was able to check in and have a shower. Then headed to the office.

That night I went to a rooftop bar at the top of the QT Hotel. It was okay but I realised views of Perth are better during the day and better from my office!

For breakfast the next day I went to a cafe called the Kinky Lizard. This is the middle eastern breakfast with eggs and yoghurt...

Dinner one night at Stables in the laneway next to the hotel was good...

This was different for dinner but quite tasty. Also in the laneway next to the hotel.

My last day the weather wasn't great but I went and had a look at the pool

Decided to stay for the weekend and moved to Fremantle. Stayed at the Hougoumont Hotel which was okay. Good location but the room was tiny. Had dinner with Cassie and Brett on Saturday night.

Had breakfast in the hotel and then found a nice cafe nearby for a coffee...

Then easy Uber to the airport and flight home.

Singapore - September 2024

Arrived from Shanghai on Sunday afternoon. Very easy transition through immigration and caught a Grab to the Westin. Nice to be back at this lovely hotel. This is the view from my room on 37/F. The pool is on 35/F.

Spent some time unpacking and ironing my shirts then went for a swim and spa.

Later I met my colleague for a drink at the lobby bar...

Then we caught a Grab to Dempsey Hill for dinner. 

After dinner we returned to the hotel and had drinks in the sports bar and watched a soccer match. Then to bed.

Monday morning I had breakfast in the hotel and then proceeded to the office which is a 6 minute walk away in MBFC 3. This is the view from my office...

Monday after work I had a quick dinner at Lau Pa Sat and met my mate Ian for a drink on Boat Quay. We had some drinks and played pool...

On Wednesday night we had a partner dinner at Lavo at the top of Marina Bay Sands. It was a lovely night. Looking back to the city...

On Thursday night after my colleagues had left, I met my mate again. We played some pool, had dinner then went bowling.

Friday I worked from the hotel. Then checked out and walked to Chinatown and continued working from a cafe. Had a massage then back to the hotel for one last swim. Caught a Tada to the airport and had a nice dinner in the first class lounge.

The Salt & Pepper Squid was excellent...

Got some more pyjamas :-)

Tailwinds resulted in a quick flight home and we landed early. Good morning Sydney!
