Sydney - January 2024

Wow 2024 is here! My office was closed until 8 January so I spent the first week of the year at the lake, doing odd jobs. The upstairs deck was looking worse for wear so I re-stained it.

Had some old friends up for dinner...

Went cycling the next day...

I had a paved area that I wanted to get rid of, but was putting off doing it myself. 

So I put the pavers on Facebook Marketplace for free, and some guys came and took them. Now I just have to get rid of the concrete border and turf...

I cycled 20 km every day over the Christmas New Year break, except for New Year's Day, as it was a bit windy. So on 2 January, I did 30 km!

I'm gradually getting the garden under control...

And Callum is helping me with Telegraph Road...

My sister brought this back from Boston and I still have it!

One night I met my sister for a drink at Maybe Sammy which was recently voted the world's top bar.

Maybe Sammy has been named as the world’s most influential bar by taking out the #1 spot in the Top 500 Bars 2023 awards.

Had a swim at Toowoon Bay one day...

I found a cool bar in Wyong called Jerry sent me...

Preparing for the new turf...

I got 9 rolls delivered....

Turns out I needed 12!

Got some tenants for Australia Day so made the house up...

Sydney - December 2023

Arrived back from Hong Kong early on Friday 1 December and worked at home that day. The evening I headed into town for a Sydney staycation at The Langham on Kent Street. Got an upgrade to a suite which was lovely...

Went for a swim and a spa in the basement pool area...

Walked down to The Rocks for dinner and then around Circular Quay. It's busy...

Walking back over Observatory Hill...

On Saturday night went to a burlesque show at Grand Electric in Redfern called Blanc de Blanc. It was fantastic.

Then headed to dinner at Chin Chin in Surry Hills which was great too...

Back to the hotel for a nightcap...

Sunday was another lovely day so had a walk around Barangaroo...

And had lunch at a Japanese restaurant...

Went for a team lunch at a Turkish restaurant called Maydanoz in Carrington Street. We ordered and then saw this dish so ordered that too...

The work Christmas party arrived and it was Barbie themed. I went as retro 80s Ken :-)

It was at 12-Mcron at Barangaroo...

Next day we had a heatwave...

I was sent a really great hamper for Christmas...

The garden at Berkeley Vale is looking great...

Did my cycle to The Entrance every day. Lovely weather...
